smoker's risk of heart disease

A new study found that secondhand smokers develop higher signs and symptoms of heart disease, strokes and attacks, what the link between" passive smoke "and heart disease. This study was published in the Journal of the American Heart Association and calculated the amount of Cotinin in the blood of the participants.

Dr. Andrea Venn of the University of Nottingham in the UK is the leading author of the new study. Dr. Andrea said â € œthe study provides additional evidence points to the low-level exposure to secondhand smoke has a clinically important effect on susceptibility to cardiovascular diseaseâ €?. According to the American Heart Association (AHA) cotinine is a chief indicator of nicotine intake and exposure to tobacco smoke.

The study also examined whether the participants exposed to secondhand smoke at home, at work or at other locations had advanced from fibrinogen, homocysteine and C-reactive protein. The study tested the U.S. results from the third National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey including about 7599 adults who had never smoked.

The results of this survey is 18 percent of participants had no significant levels of cotinine, while the rest were high or low. It is noted that the participants in the survey, the high levels of cotinine had lived with a smoker or in place where there are smokers.

The strong of fibrinogen and homocysteine to convert into a 5 percent increased risk of diseases but studies elsewhere have pointed out that other factors can affect the risk of disease secondhand smoke by up to 30 percent.

Fibrinogen is a protein and an amino acid homocysteine in the blood. Both are trademarks of swelling and also in the blood coagulation.

Dr Venn said â € œeven those who do not expose to smokers at home or at work are a low or high cotinine in their bloodâ €?. These people might be exposed to smoke in public places such as restaurants and bars, or in other peopleâ € ™ s houses, such as friends who mean the people who rely on a low level of smoke is still the risk of heart disease.
