Lifetime fitness is a commitment. It is the belief that our minds and bodies healthy is more than just a noble idea, but calls for concrete measures that are necessary at regular intervals. It is the conscious decision that it be executed to ensure that our life goal. Lifetime health and fitness is a commitment to a lifestyle change to live a happier and healthier life.

Since the turn of the century, average life expectancy in the United States has significantly from 47 years in 1900 to 77.3 years old at the turn of the century. Unfortunately, 33 percent of students across the country do not participate in the recommended amount of life health and fitness activities, as required by the Surgeon General and the President of the Council on Physical Fitness. This lack of activity in fitness programs, often into adulthood, where the number of people living without movement and fitness program increases.

After a lifetime fitness report by the National Institute on Aging, only 58 percent of the American population is engaged in a lifetime fitness program, in which leisure time and force of the people, only 26 percent do so three or more times per week as part of their lives fitness program.

How does a lifetime of exercise and fitness program will improve your quality of life?

The Center for Disease Control, the following five annual causes of death in the United States.

* Heart disease: 696,947 deaths

* Cancer: 557,271 deaths

* Stroke: 162,672 deaths

* Chronic diseases of the lower respiratory tract: 124,816 deaths

* Accidents (unintentional injuries): 106,742 deaths

With the exception of accidental deaths, all other leading forms of death have been avoided or delayed with a lifetime health and fitness program including exercise, healthy eating, and for non-smokers.

If a life-long health and fitness program includes a diet low in cholesterol, a significant reduction in the development of fatty substances called plaque deposits is remarkable in the arteries. If too much plaque forms in the arteries, they are clogged, reducing the quantity of blood and oxygen circulating that the coronary arteries, and can ultimately lead to a heart attack or stroke.

A healthy life-fitness program should never cigarette smoking. Smoking is associated with cancer, chronic respiratory diseases and cancer.
