patient with rheumatic heart disease
Wow, the above title sounds a real mouthful but the reason for this is it. Apparently, (listen to the back please) the yearly Winter Flu Jab can help to reduce the number of fatal heart attacks, incidence of death and the number of unplanned emergency procedures, the work on the clogged arteries of patients with coronary artery disease,
"Way to go, you can pile all the Doc's and get jabbed"
Without the accused, that too much of a joke about the above topic, there is increasing evidence, apparently, that people with heart or cardiovascular problems in general should have a picture of the flu vaccine each year.
If you think that the underlying logic behind this is all very, very good. It is a common fact that people with cardiovascular problems, the flu each year, in fact, in a larger size, that is the norm. Therefore, if you can prevent them from influenza in the first place then you are an important step forward to prevent these deaths.
The key is that in patients already at high risk of deterioration of their condition could be either really on the edge or over the health of those without vaccination.
The latest study, all the medical community was speaking at the recent American Heart Association meeting in Chicago by a group presented their results of their studies in Poland.
The problem with the replication of the study in America was that in Poland the research on 658 patients with cardiovascular disease and the methodology of the survey would be unethical in the United States. It has 325 are to them and gave them an active influenza vaccine and with the other 333, she gave them a placebo.
The problem with this is in the U.S., that the guidelines so that they do it to recommend that heart patients who have flu shots.
The real problem that this whole exercise has shown this. The results were very useful because of the parallel groups, etc., which in its basic mandate were almost identical, ie they all had heart disease. This research was an additional form of validation, but the dependence of the guidelines in the United States against the replication of this survey, there has been a further major discrepancies.
According to the American College of Cardiology, only one in three adults in the United States with heart disease actually have the flu JAB last year.
So much for compliance with the guidelines for further research and a recommendation that every patient should be the heart of flu vaccination. It seems a case of "do what I say and not what I do!"
