Cholesterol is a waxy substance that circulates through the bloodstream and into the tissues of animals, including humans. It only makes sense that all foods from animal sources contain cholesterol with the highest level of cholesterol in egg yolk and organ meats like liver or kidneys. There are two types of cholesterol, low-density lipoproteins (LDL) and high-density lipoproteins (HDL), referred to as "good" (HDL) and bad (LDL). If you much of the bad LDL cholesterol in your blood, the risk for coronary heart disease, heart disease, heart attack and are greatly increased.

Cholesterol is a necessary nutrient that transports other compounds, including triglycerides, fatty acids, phospholipids, cholesterol, and small amounts of steroids and fat-soluble vitamins through the blood stream. Your body makes some cholesterol, and the rest must come from animal sources. Food derived from vegetable sources contains no cholesterol.

This does not mean that all the plant food sources are safe when it comes to high cholesterol. Plant and animal food sources with high levels of trans fat, saturated fat or really more responsible for high cholesterol, then food, the only high cholesterol. Foodstuffs in saturated fatty acids found in many vegetable oils are dangerous to health, then food, only with high cholesterol.

This can be confusing, but if you have a meal, we all know it makes more sense. We all know that eggs or egg yolks, high cholesterol, and if we have a breakfast with eggs and bacon, sausage or it may cause blood cholesterol levels to go. What most people do not realize is that the high fat content of the bacon and sausage is responsible for this increase then the cholesterol in eggs.

You do not necessarily want to have low HDL-cholesterol, but you want your LDL low. The reasons are simple, high LDL levels are known to reduce the risk of coronary heart disease by clogging indicator artery and contribute to plaque build-up in the artery walls. HDL-cholesterol, on the other hand, actually circulates through the blood and moves to LDL cholesterol removal from the circulatory system and the implementation of the liver, which is available.

Another thing that is visible triglyceride levels, because high levels of these chemical forms of fat in conjunction with high LDL and low HDL. Triglycerides are found in many foods and are also protected by the body for energy. High triglyceride levels are found in the obese and people who have diabetes.

One of the easiest ways to reduce cholesterol is by avoiding foods rich in saturated fats and trans fatty acids. You can eat foods containing cholesterol, but the key is moderation and avoid eating them with foods high in saturated fats. Thinning and movement is also a good way to reduce cholesterol levels. If diet and exercise are not your doctor may choose to use prescription drugs in conjunction with the above strategies for reducing high cholesterol.
