rheumatic heart disease guidelines
After the Mayo Clinic (and every other authority in this case), there has been an upswing in coronary disease in the last 20 years. In fact, a recent study found clogged arteries in young adults, age 16 to to - what heart disease is not only to men and women in their 50s and 60s. The latest results mark the first shift since the mid-1960s, when a decline in heart disease began.
In the study, researchers from the Mayo Clinic and the University of British Columbia, that of 515 people aged 16-64, 82% (425 persons) had "a degree of coronary atherosclerosis assessed at autopsy.
The researchers found that 83% of this group had evidence of coronary artery disease (CAD) and roughly 8% had a high level of disease. Your 23-year analysis of the decline of three categories: high level, every level, and the average degree of CAD. But the degree of decline stopped after 1995 and May actually tip upwards after 2000.
It is hardly surprising that there was also a corresponding increase in obesity and diabetes rates in the same period. And the relationship between obesity, diabetes, heart disease and has been through relationships such as X-syndrome
The introduction of computers and a sedentary lifestyle, the growth of fast-food chains and larger portion sizes, reduced physical education in schools and increased consumption of high-fructose corn syrup have massively contributed to the obesity explosion, which now an epidemic in North America.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said that in 2003 just over one million men died. Of these deaths, approximately 80% died of heart disease or one of the nine other leading causes of death among American men (cancer, accidents, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease / COPD, diabetes, influenza and pneumonia, suicide, kidney disease, Alzheimer's disease).
The American Heart Association showed that over 410,000 people died from cardiovascular disease in 2004 and approximately one quarter of all heart disease deaths among men, 35-65. Men typically develop heart disease 10-15 years earlier than women to die, therefore, in its heyday.
Surprisingly, cardiac patients rarely change their diet. They think that they were only taking into account suffered a heart attack, but apparently old habits die hard. A 11 February Reuters article shows this result. Dr. Yunsheng Ma from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, a follow-up study 555 cardiac patients for one year. He and his colleagues discovered that only a few met "recommendations for fruit, vegetable and fiber intake and eating a" disturbing "amount of trans fat. "
According to the article, researchers used the Alternate Healthy Eating Index (AHEI), a measurement of heart-healthy diet, including fruit and vegetables, the amount of trans fat consumed, and from white-red meat to eat. ""
• The average was 30.8-score of 80
• Only 12.4% with five or more servings vegetables per day
• Only 7.8% in four or more servings of fruit daily
• Less than 8% in cereal seed fiber recommendations
• Only 50%, by at least 20 minutes at least once in the last 3 months
One of the problems is only 20% had cardiac rehabilitation after an event, this does not succeed in their programs to the exercise of the rule, not the diet.
